Zara International

Zara international is one of the fastest growing clothing companies in the world right now That is due, in large part to the effective management techniques employed by Inditex's (Zara's parent company) CEO Pablo Isla. His frugality plays a large part in the continued success of the company, but the specific techniques that Zara International uses, compared to their competitors, is what sets them apart from the rest.

Certain elements of the classical management approach are very much evident at Zara International. The scientific approach states that each worker should have a specialized task to perform in order for a business or company to run more efficiently. At Zara, there is a creative team of 200 professionals who sole purpose is to keep up with the latest fashion trends. This is extremely important because what sets Zara ahead of the rest if their ability to mimic the most recent fashion trends in their stores as quickly as possible, at a lower price. The administrative and bureaucratic principles also seen at Zara help to foster its continued growth and success. There are clear, defined roles in different departments at Zara, which help to facilitate smooth operations. The textile design, manufacturing, and distribution companies under Inditex is a clear example of planning, control, and efficient managing.

The systems concept states that organizations are filled with a complex network of subsystems that must cooperate and work together to ensure the success of the company. Zara is a great example of this because, as I stated before, the different companies under Inditex (textile design, manufacturing, etc) are all essential to the continued success of the company. Without the cooperation of one, the entire entity (Zara Interantional) would crumble. Managers at Zara International also uses contingency thinking very effectively as well. Fashion trends are continually changing and evolving and Zara employs professionals to keep track, as well as adjust to the change appropriately. As compared to their competitors, Zara is always adapting. This is one of the reasons why they are so successful.
